Green Communities Canada Board Chair Chris Birchall is advocating for federal aid to help non-profits and charities weather the COVID-19 storm.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Birchall notes that while GCC appreciates the many efforts taken by the federal government to address the crisis, specific measures are necessary to ensure the survival of Canada’s non-profit and charity sectors. Among the measures he urges are, as proposed by Imagine Canada, an $8 billion emergency stabilization fund comprised of at least 90% grants to organizations.
