GCC’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Carol Steuri is our new Executive Director. 

Carol joins GCC with over 15 years’ experience in marketing, communications and strategy across a variety of sectors and industries in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Her experience includes work as a senior strategist at an innovation firm and as a senior brand manager at Unilever. She has taught innovation and marketing at the University level and has consulted across different industries guiding clients on everything from strategic planning to managing change. In recent years, she’s been dedicated to helping social entrepreneurs at the early stages. Her passion points include climate action, equality, and youth empowerment. 

“We couldn’t be happier,” GCC Board Chair Chris Birchall said in announcing the hire. “The Board and staff look forward with excitement to Carol’s leadership and to supporting her in expanding GCC’s successes.” 

A proud Winnipegger, Carol has called Montreal, Toronto, New York, and the Swiss Alps home. She’s now moving to Chelsea, Quebec, with her husband, two young boys, and their brown lab. A lover of the great outdoors, she enjoys hiking, biking and snowboarding with the family. She’s also a hobby writer, avid reader, and volunteer. 

Carol holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is in the midst of wrapping up a Masters in Global Diplomacy from the SOAS University of London. 

“It’s an honour to be welcomed into the GCC family,” Carol said. “To join such an amazing team, doing their part in shaping greener, more sustainable, and more equitable communities. I’m very eager and excited to spread the impact.” 

Carol takes over Executive Director duties effective 3 August.
