Green Communities Canada (GCC) celebrated Earth Day by launching its National Mini-Forest Pilot Program at Terra Nova Rural Park, in Richmond, BC.

The planting event was the first of five that will take place across Canada this year. A minimum of 2,800 trees will be planted to help address climate change and biodiversity loss, and contribute to Canada’s goal of planting two billion trees by 2030.

Led by GCC, the program is a collaboration with Dougan & Associates, Canadian Geographic, and Wilder Climate Solutions through the Network of Nature, and is funded through the Government of Canada’s Two Billion Trees program, TD Bank Group and the Greenbelt Foundation.
