The highly successful Canada Greener Homes Grant program was abruptly cancelled this month. Instrumental in stimulating home energy retrofits, the program supported homeowner actions to combat climate change, increased energy efficiency and comfort, and helped reduce energy bills.
Originally announced for seven years, the program ended after only two-and-a-half years. Without a program in place, the capacity for homeowners to retrofit their homes will be significantly reduced. The cancellation of the program also severely limits Canada’s ability to meet its commitment to achieving GHG emission reduction goals.
Join the campaign to save this important program by asking the federal government to continue to offer rebates for energy efficiency home upgrades by reinstating the Canada Greener Homes Grant program or announce its intention to launch a new, improved program to replace the Canada Greener Homes Grant program.
