GCNews July: GCC welcomes a new Board member

Green Communities Canada (GCC) welcomes Teresa Lawson as its newest Board member. Teresa, Executive Director of member organization City Green Solutions, was appointed to the Board at GCC’s 2024 Annual General Meeting held in June.

Teresa brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She played a leading role in the founding and delivery of CleanBC Better Homes, a province-wide energy coaching program, and in the design and delivery of the Home Energy Navigator Program, a community-based collaborative energy concierge program. Teresa’s skills in program design and development, facilitating change management, and in financial management will be a tremendous asset to the Board.

The 2024 AGM also marked the end of Board terms for Ami Gagné and Melanie Reixach-Wong. Both served three-year terms, during which they helped to successfully guide GCC through the pandemic and the hiring of an Interim Executive Director. Ami and Melanie both served on the Board’s Youth Committee. During their tenure Ami was also a member of the Human Resources Committee, and Melanie was a member of the Governance Committee.
