Living Cities Pilot Communities (2021-2022)
From 2021-2022 GCC teamed up with local environmental organizations in five communities across Canada to build capacity and action for equitable, abundant and thriving green infrastructure.
These partners included:
- Environment Lethbridge – Lethbridge, Alberta
- London Environmental Network – London, Ontario
- Green Venture & Environment Hamilton – Hamilton, Ontario
- ACAP St. John – St. John, New Brunswick
- Petitcodiac Watershed Association & the Garden Cities project – Dieppe, New Brunswick
Based on our Living Cities Framework, each community received a customized Living Cities Policy Pathway describing how they can enact policies, programs, and partnerships that accelerate green infrastructure implementation.

In 2022 GCC launched our Living Cities Canada Fund which supports organizations to build public support for green infrastructure, develop their own localized policy pathways, and expand on-the-ground local action projects.
