Bike to School Week (B2SW) is an annual celebration of the journey to school by two (or more!) wheels. B2SW takes place during the last week of May or first week of June.

In 2026, we are celebrating Bike to School Week from June 1-5.

What is Active School Travel?

At Green Communities Canada, our Active School Travel program provides supports, online resources, and services. Click here to visit our program page and learn more about Active School Travel.

The Active School Travel program provides peer support and regular knowledge-exchange opportunities:

  • Peer networking for active school travel practitioners

Online resources  

The Ontario Active School Travel website includes many online resources, for school communities, school boards and municipalities to use:   

  • Explore the resources library for ideas, toolkits, reports, and guides to help get more kids using active transportation. 
  • The walk and wheel skills resource hub is packed with materials for schools to promote active travel year-round  
  • Get inspired by the news page, featuring the latest news and events from school communities across the province.
