In 2023, the City of Guelph, with support from Natural Resources Canada, brought together 237 volunteers to transform 500 m² of York Road Park into a thriving mini forest. The project saw the planting of 632 trees, 495 shrubs, 140 wildflowers, and 25 types of grasses, creating a diverse green space that supports biodiversity and strengthens the local urban ecosystem.
