Bio
Sam holds a B.A.Honours from Queen’s University and certificates in Carpentry, Residential & Commercial Home Inspections, Infrared Thermal Imaging, and is registered by Natural Resources Canada as an Energy Advisor and Quality Assurance Specialist. Over the past 20 years, they have run a Contracting business, working as the lead carpenter and specializing in renovating century homes with a focus on deep retrofits. They have also been a registered Energy Advisor since 2008, encouraging homeowners to embrace the house-as-a-system concept in their retrofitting plans. More recently, Sam worked at Natural Resources Canada on the Technical Services ManuEval team processing exception files, contributing to EnerGuide policies and procedures, and helping to enhance the quality assurance process. They remain passionate about influencing others to reduce their fossil fuel emissions. When relaxing, they enjoy being with family, creating art, taking photos in nature, and riding their motorcycle.
