Tracy brings 16 years of management experience in the public and non-profit sectors. Previous positions include General Manager of Winnipeg’s iconic West End Cultural Centre, over a decade as a Program Manager with the Department of Canadian Heritage, and her current role as Executive Director at Green Action Centre, Manitoba’s hub for greener living.
At Green Action Centre, which has been a GCC member since 2005, Tracy works with a dedicated team of 12 individuals who address environmental issues and promote sustainable living. She is responsible for the management of the organization and administration of day-to-day operations. This includes financial management, project and resource development, strategic planning, stakeholder relations, human resources, and general administrative duties.
She is a graduate of the Management Certificate Program at the University of Winnipeg and has an undergraduate certificate in Sustainable Community Development through Simon Fraser University. She has also taken courses on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
Tracy’s had the privilege of working with many rural and northern Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nunavut communities, and she sits on the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation’s review panel. Her interest in sustainable development grew from a six-month volunteer experience in a village in Western Africa back in 1995.
She is passionate about the environment and proud to live in a walk-able and transit-friendly community with a mature urban forest. Tracy has hiked, canoed and camped throughout Manitoba, including a memorable trip to Churchill to see the tundra and kayak with belugas. Her spare time is spent exploring other parts of the world and seeing live music.
